Preserved Flower Care

Here are a few tips for keeping your flowers looking fresh and beautiful.

Preserved flowers are real plants, harvested at the moment they are in full bloom. They have been perfectly preserved using natural glycerine and dyes. Your flowers will retain their natural beauty for many months.

  • Preserved flowers must not be placed in water or kept in a very humid environment. Position the flower away from heat sources such as radiators or fireplaces to avoid drying out the stems.

  • To preserve the colour of your flowers, position out of direct sunlight.Your flowers have been preserved using natural dyes. To prevent the transfer of colour, do not place in contact with fabrics or furnishings.

  • A humidity level of below 70% is recommended. At particularly humid times of the year, the stems may leak small amounts of dye, if this happens use tissue to gently dry the stems and move them to a warm and dry location.

Phalaenopsis Orchid Care

Here are few tips to take care of phalaenopsis orchid. It is slighly different from taking care of other types of orchid. Follow the rules listed below:

  • Place your orchid in a bright room, but not in direct sunlight

  • Water the orchid infrequently, being guided by the plant, rather than watering on a schedule. Many more orchids die from over-watering than under-watering. A good way to tell when it’s time to water your orchid is by sticking your finger into the pot. If it feels wet, don’t water yet! You can also try lifting the pot to feel how heavy it is. When the pot is dry it will feel very light, and it might be time to give your orchid a drink.

  • Only water the roots. Keep the flowers and leaves dry.

  • Use a well-draining pot and growing media and never let your orchid sit in water for more than a few minutes.

  • Keep the orchid after it has flowered. They are easy to care for in the vegetative stage and will flower many times if treated well.

  • Use a water soluble fertilizer. Fertilize every 1-2 weeks, but not during the flowering phase. A good strategy is to use a weak fertilizer solution on a weekly basis, rather than using a stronger solution less often.
